Govey'nment kiln^
Two characters are generally used together to signify the
word Company, kuwai^ a meeting or assembly, and sha, an
association, but sometimes the word sha is found alone.
The following inscription is that of the Shippo Company
of Owari ;

KUWAI-SHA. NIPPON, SHIPPO KUWAI-SHA, SEI-ZO.
Company. The Shippo Company^ Japan, made the ware.
In connection with this subject it is only necessary to
notice two other words, san (the product), and shiujin (the
master), which are occasionally used.
