A blue and white ‘hundred boys’ baluster jar
Kangxi
The elegantly potted jar rising to a broad shoulder, painted with a
charming scene of many boys, variously playing blind-mans-bluff,
spinning tops and windmills and acting as scholar officials, hardwood
cover and stand; together with a Samson gilt-metal mounted powder-
blue and famille verte jar and cover, 19th century.

A near pair of large blue and white baluster vases
and covers
Kangxi
Each of elegant baluster form painted in vibrant underglaze blue,
the central register with lappet borders containing continuous foliate
sprays on blue ground and stylised lotus scrolls, all between quatrefoil
lozenge borders, with similarly painted foliate barbed domed covers
surmounted by a lotus bud finial, lingzhi mark on the base. The largest
53.3cm (21in) high (4).

Kangxi six-character mark and of the period
The rounded sides rising to an everted rim, the central roundel painted
with leafy scrolling lotus blooms, within a similar floral design border,
the exterior painted with a lotus meander.
