18th/19th century
The figure of eight shaped vessel painted to the exterior and well with
elaborate arrangements of peony, bamboo and other flower varieties,
the flat rim with a lotus and fish-roe diaper pattern, the interior rim with
a fruit and flowers border design.

A blue and white and iron-red decorated ‘dragon’
vase, hu
The pear-shaped vessel flanked by a pair of deer-head handles at the
shoulder, the exterior painted with five ferocious dragons in mid-flight in
iron-red, above a thrashing waves ground in underglaze-blue.

A blue and white table screen
19th/20th century
The porcelain plaque painted with two elaborately plumed phoenix
luxuriating amongst peony and rock work, with a six line poetic
inscription, signed Lin Shun Gua 林順㒷, mounted as a table screen in
a wood stand. The stand and frame: 57.5cm (22 5/8in) high (2).

The present lot is inscribed with the second half of a poem, ‘Peony’,
by the Tang poet and statesman Luo Yin (833-910). The full piece
reads:
艷多煙重欲開難,紅蕊當心一抹檀
公子醉歸燈下見,美人朝插鏡中看
當庭始覺春風貴,帶雨方知國色寒
日晚更將何所似,太真無力憑闌幹
