Late Qing/Republic period
Each potted with a cupped rim, upright
neck and faceted walls forming an oval
profile above the tall foot, painted with mirror
images of long-tailed pheasants perched
amid peonies, blossoming branches and
garden rocks drawn in richly hued pigments
against a mirror black ground, the shoulder
and the foot showing smaller reserves of
flowers, fish and water weeds set against
intricate diaper panels (one vase chipped);
the vases now attached conforming plexiglas
display bases.

Each of drum shape, cut with cash patterned 6305
opening at the center of the top and the
side wall set between rows of raised bosses
painted in iron red, the remaining surfaces
painted in pleasing enamels with birds,
garden rocks and seasonal blossoms.

WITH FAMILLE ROSE PHOENIX AND
DRAGON DECORATION
Qianlong marks
Each painted in iron red and gilt with five bats
surrounding a shou medallion at the center of
the well, the exterior walls showing a dragon
and a phoenix in clouds rendered in opaque
white and bright colors against gilt-outlined
scrolls drawn on the iron red ground, the
recessed base bearing the six-character
mark in iron red seal script.
