A PAIR OF COBALT GROUND BALUSTER JARS WITH GILT
AND FAMILLE ROSE DECORATION
Late Qing/Republic period
The cobalt wash applied under a colorless glaze and highlighted with
gilt leaf scrolls surrounding large shaped reserves painted in bright
colors with peonies and other flowers in bloom around a garden rock
and balustrade, the colorless glaze covering all surfaces except the
wide foot pad and the inside rim (lacking covers, bases drilled and
filled).

A PAIR OF POLYCHROME ENAMELED PLAQUES
Of tall rectangular section, enameled in a qianjiangcai style but with
fairly vibrant colors to depict a group of antiques and chickens in the
first panel and a group of antiques and pomegranates in the second;
both inscribed in archaistic calligraphy and bearing the signature of
Yu Ziming and bearing a cyclical date guimao (equivalent to 1903).

A PAIR OF MOLDED PORCELAIN DRAGON VASES
Qianlong marks, 20th century
Each molded with a floriform lip on a body of pear form applied with
lively dragon handles as well as facing dragons with movable eyes
in circular reserves, the brightly colored enamels painted onto the
biscuit against a turquoise enamel ground that continues on the
recessed base surrounding a circular reserve in blue enamel bearing
the six-character mark stamped in seal script (minor chips).

A GROUP OF FOUR PORCELAIN PLAQUES
Of tall rectangular section enameled in predominantly hues of grays
and black to depict mountainous landscapes surrounding bright red
isolated pavilions and figures, all inscribed to bear the signature of
Shi Qifeng and to bear a cyclical bingshen date equivalent to 1956;
mounted in soft wood frames between carved raised-relief figural
floating panels.

A PAIR OF PORCELAIN PLAQUES
Of tall rectangular section depicting snowy mountain scenes of lonely
pavilions by winter waterways, the first entitled han chuang xue du or
‘Reading the Snow by a Cold Window’ and the second entitled kong
shan ji xue or ‘Snow Piling Up in an Empty Mountain;’ both bearing
signatures and seals of He Xuren and bearing a xinwei and Minguo
ershi nian date equivalent to 1931 (losses to enamels, scratches).
