A GROUP OF NINE JADE AND HARDSTONE DISCS LAKE ELMO, MINNESOTA
The first of thin section without any decoration; the second carved
on both sides with slightly raised hexagonal bosses; four in various
sizes carved and incised on both sides with coiled silk worm bosses; 5207
the seventh carved as a coin bearing a Kangxi mark; the eighth a A GROUP OF THREE SMALL JADE TOGGLES
Late Qing/Republic period
coin combined with a bat; the ninth carved on both sides with joined
C-scrolls (most with tiny nicks or chips). The first carved as two beans issuing from a leafy branch with scrolling
tendrils, the evenly hued white stone displaying minimum inclusions;
1 7/8 to 2 3/8in (4.7 to 6.3cm) diameter the second carved with two lobed melons on a large leaf borne to
undercut branches, the grayish-white stone cast with paler color
US$1,000 - 1,500 patches; the third probably carved as a cluster of eggplants with
deeply undercut convoluted branches, the pale celadon tinged matrix
Due to the large number of items in this lot, condition reports and exhibiting white and russet areas.

A GROUP OF SEVEN JADE CARVINGS
Including three bi discs of thin section finished without decoration (one PROPERTY FROM THE COLLECTION OF H. LEE TURNER,
with minor nicks); two toggles in the shape of joined lingzhi fungus KANSAS
branches with drill holes below the stems for suspension (one with
polished edge); and two feather holders, one of cylindrical section 5208
(polished chips), the other finished with a flat face preserving the
russet-stained surface of the original boulder (minor nicks). A CARVED ROCK CRYSTAL CENSER

The fitted lid adorned in separately carved rings and surmounting
2in (5cm) diameter of largest bi disc a compressed globular body separating beast head lid handles
suspending additional rings and raised atop three hoof-form legs

The first a rectangular plaque depicting the Red Cliff Ode with the four
characters shan gao yue xiao from the Latter Ode to the Red Cliff by
Su Shih carved as a square seal in the lower right corner; the second PROPERTY FROM VARIOUS OWNERS
a kneeling baby boy holding a scepter and a stalk of grain; the third
a toggle shaped as a goldfish holding a water lily flower; the fourth a 5209
toggle formed as two conjoined lotus pods; together with an amethyst A SMALL JADE CARVING OF A RECUMBENT SHEEP
seated figure of Budai. [5] 19th century
2 x 2 5/8in (5.2 x 6.8cm) the Red Cliff plaque Possibly an example of the fat-tailed breed, with curving horns and
front left leg arched as it rests with the other legs folded beneath it, the
