NOTE:
Cai Ruohong was a native of Jiujiang, Jiangxi.
He was one of the founders of the New
China Fine Art movement, a famous artist,
and he graduated from the Western Painting
Department of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts
in 1931. Cai later joined the Chinese Left-wing
Artists Union and engaged in comic illustration
in Shanghai. After 1949, he served as an art
editor of People’s Daily, deputy director of
the Art Bureau of the Ministry of Culture, and
vice president of the Chinese Painting Research
Institute. (2)

註:蔡若虹,江西九江人,新中國美術奠基人
之一、著名美術家,1931年畢業於上海美術專
科學校西畫系,同年參加中國左翼美術家聯
盟,後在上海從事漫畫創作。1949年建國後,
歷任《人民日報》美術編輯、文化部藝術局副
局長、中國畫研究院副院長等要職。
