TWO MOLDED PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLES
1820-1880
The first of elongated, tapering ovoid form rising to a
deeply waisted neck beneath a gilt-heightened flat lip,
molded on one side with a three-clawed dragon, reversed
with a phoenix in flight in pursuit of a ruyi scepter, amidst
dense clouds, framed between bands of ruyi-head and
key-fret patterns on the neck, covered all over with various
colored enamels, the foot rim unglazed, and the recessed
base with an iron-red Jiaqing nianzhi mark; the second
bottle crisply and deeply molded overall with the Eight
Immortals in a outdoor setting against a repetitive wave
ground, with ruyi-head lappets at the shoulder and foot,
the oval foot rim surrounding a recessed with an iron red
seal mark.

TWO ROCK CRYSTAL SNUFF BOTTLES
1760-1850
The first bottle of hair crystal, of irregular form, with flat lip
and a flat foot, the green skin carved as a coiled dragon
emerging from ruyi form clouds carved in low relief, with
a gate inscribed Yumen, roiling waves incised around the
foot, with a dramatic spray of rutiles; the second bottle of
smokey crystal, of compressed rounded rectangular form
with a flat lip and rounded foot rim surround a recessed
flat foot, the main sides carved in low relief with bamboo
and a pine.

SNUFF BOTTLE
Qianlong mark, 19th century
Of compressed globular form, with a rounded lip and
unglazed oval foot rim, the bottle with a pattern of scrolling
lotus on a lime green ground, with a blue enamel key fret
pattern around the outer foot rim, a four character iron red
mark to the foot.
