A LARGE GREENISH-WHITE TWO-HANDLED ARCHAISTIC
VASE AND COVER
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The vase is of square section, carved to the body with a wide band of raised
vertical ribs, between two bands of archaistic taotie and stylised ‘C’-scrolls.
The neck is carved and pierced with a pair of elephant-head handles with
loose rings. The stone is of an even pale celadon tone with a few areas of minor
mottled inclusion.
