PROPERTY FROM WERRINGTON PARK, CORNWALL (LOTS 281-284)

          The current vendor’s great grandfather, JC Williams (1861-1939) sponsored plant
          hunters Wilson and Forrest, who imported fower and plant seeds to the UK from
          the Far East in the early 20th century. It is likely that some of the jades in this
          collection were acquired by JC Williams at that time.

          A LARGE FINELY-CARVED PALE GREENISH-WHITE AND
          RUSSET JADE ‘DOUBLE PEONY’ WASHER
          QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
          The washer is carved in the form of two elaborate peony blooms growing from
          a gnarled leafy branch. The stone is of an even pale celadon tone with a few
          small areas of russet inclusion to the tips of the leaves and petals.
