A PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE BOULDER
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The front of the boulder is skilfully carved with a river running through a rocky
alcove with pine and wutong trees, featuring a reclining scholar on a boat
below a later added poetic inscription and behind a boy with a crane in the
foreground. The reverse is carved with three bearded immortals in front of a
pavilion, with two boy attendants crossing a bridge. The stone is of a pale tone
with russet streaks mostly highlighting the top of the boulder.
