A group of three monochrome glazed porcelain
snuff bottles
18th to 19th century
The first a well-potted seed-form bottle, its entire surface covered
with a layer of aubergine glaze except its rim; the second and third
two molded bottles, one glazed in coral-red, of the Jiaqing period,
the surfaces with raised and undercut elaborate design of dragon and
phoenix among dense cloud scrolls between bands of lingzhi heads,
its wide mouth rim mounted with metal, the recessed foot painted in
gilt with the six-character mark; the other covered with turquoise blue
glaze, the flat rim heightened in gilt, decorated with raised design of
the Eight Buddhist Treasures and lotuses against a neatly rendered
key-fret patterned ground.

Two enameled porcelain snuff bottles
Late Qing/Republic period
The first a well-potted Tongzhi period bottle (1861-1873), of
compressed spherical form, gilt paint to the rim and above the oval
foot, the side walls painted in enamels of various shades and gilt
depicting a theatrical battle scene at terrace, with a serene landscape
in distance, the raised oval foot ring encircling the six-character
mark in iron red; the second a rose enameled bottle, Qianlong mark,
Republic period, its flattened globular body rising to a straight neck,
flat gilt rim, the short oval foot with an unglazed rim surrounding the
six-character mark in regular script.

A fine white jade snuff bottle
Of slightly tapering ovoid form, with a straight neck, flat mouth and
foot rims, carved in rounded low relief to one side with blooming
prunus branches, reversed with a leafy lotus flower; the white stone
polished to a soft luster with a very faint russet patch.
