A JADEITE VASE AND COVER
19TH CENTURY
The fattened baluster form vase has two mask handles with loose
rings. The body is carved in low relief with a wide band of stylised
C-scroll motifs above a lappet border. The cover is joined to the
vase with a linked chain and surmounted by a fowering branch.
The stone is of a mottled green hue with some brown inclusions.

A PALE GREY JADE CENSER AND WOOD
COVER
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The censer is supported on a splayed foot and is carved
with a triple row of raised nodes below an incised
band of yin yang symbols and geometrical fgures. The
sides are carved with twin loop handles terminating
in dragon’s heads. The openworked wood cover has
a fruit-shaped agate fnial. The stone is of a pale grey
tone with some dark grey veins.
