AN AGATE SNUFF BOTTLE
18TH-19TH CENTURY

The baluster bottle is carved to one side with an equestrian dignitary and a boy
on a water bufalo beneath overhanging pine. The stone is of an even honey
tone, the fgures highlighted in a darker caramel colour.

              TWO GLASS OVERLAY AND ONE MILK GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
              19TH CENTURY

              The group comprises: a turquoise-ground snuf bottle carved in black overlay on either side with a cat beneath
              a butterfy; a black-ground bottle carved in cinnabar red glass overlay in imitation of lacquer with a crane
              beneath overhanging pine on one side and with a pavilion beneath wutong on the other side; a milk glass bottle
              decorated in fencai colours with lotus and orchids. There are traces of a mark on the base.
              The largest 2¬ in. (6.6 cm.) high, three stoppers
