The thangka depicting a Lama seated in dhyanasana with one hand in vitarka
mudra, with lança characters to the reverse, the rectangular silk panel
embroidered with a dragon chasing a flaming pearl above crashing waves,
the beast surrounded by two bats in flight, all contained within a floral
border, 38.5cm x 26.4cm and 81.2cm x 36.2cm. (2)

QING DYNASTY
Cast seated in dhyanasana upon flowing fabric, he holds one hand in vitarka
mudra and the other in dhyana mudra, with a leafy branch growing to one
side, his facial features well-defined and set beneath arched eyebrows, all
raised on a semicircular pedestal decorated with a floral spray to the front
and an inscription enclosed within a cartouche to the reverse, the base
incised with a flower surrounded by rings and swirls, 26.4cm, 2.6kg.
