AN EMBELLISHED LACQUER HARDWOOD TABLE
SCREEN
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The rectangular screen is inlaid with jade, soapstone, wood, stained
bones and ivory against an ochre lacquer ground with an archaistic
gu-shaped vase holding a nandina branch and a prunus branch resting
on a waisted wood stand atop an incense stand, next to a basket filled
with apples, pomegranates, finger citron, water chestnut, and various
tools, the ground with a ruyi and fruits.
