A MINIATURE CORAL MOUNTAIN

QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY

The coral is finely carved as a mountain of irregular form with
both sides decorated with a continuation of layered rock faces.
The front depicts a figure on horseback accompanied by his
attendant, beneath cliff faces and towering peaks. The reverse
further depicts a bearded immortal holding a staff, standing within
a grotto nestled under pine trees and steep mountains.
