SET OF FIVE BOXES AND COVERS
18th century
The box with four lobes at the compass points, attractively painted
on top with nine scholars and an attendant playing weiqi and serving
tea at the table on a pine terrace, the interior fitted with four semi-
circular boxes and covers, each painted on the tops and sides with
flower sprays, all within a pale turquoise and black meander border
matching the main box. 23cm (9 1/4 inches) wide (10).
