INCENSE BURNERS AND COVERS
Late Qing Dynasty or later
Of tapered rectangular section, with inset
reticulated jade and hardstone plaques,
and flower-heads with turquoise, lapis lazuli
and coral petals, the reticulated covers with
phoenixes and further plaques, jade finials,
wood stands.

BOX AND HINGED COVER; AND A
YOKOHAMA SILVER BOWL
Meiji Period
Cast in relief with a writhing dragon amongst
billowing clouds before Mount Fuji, the sides
with crashing waves, rosewood mounted
base and interior lining; the bowl set on a
flaring foot with foliate rim, decorated with
a sinuous dragon encircling the body below
a tied silk cord motif at the neck, stamped
mark to base.

Comprising: a circular hand mirror, a shoe
horn and button hook, a rectangular tray,
three brushes, a rectangular box and cover,
a circular box and cover and a comb holder,
with stamped marks ‘CW’ for Cumwo, all
decorated with sinuous dragons; together
with: a silver match box cover; and a silver
circular box and cover decorated with
dragons amongst clouds, stamped marked
‘SF’ for Sing Fat.
