A PAIR OF TIANQI AND QIANGJIN LACQUER PANELS
The panels 18th century; the apron and legs, European, 20th century
The panels similarly decorated with a central scene depicting figures
crossing a river on a sampan amongst jagged rocks and flowering
shrubs, all within a border decorated with shaped cartouches
enclosing bats and Shou characters reserved on a diaper ground, the
European apron and legs similarly decorated with further bats, Shou
characters and diaper designs.
40cm (15 6/8in) high x 49cm (19 2/8in) wide x 62cm (24 1/2in) deep. (2).
