panel, finely woven with a continuous scene
depicting various Immortals surrounded by
jagged rocks beside a river bank, framed,
196cm (77 1/8in) high x 53cm (20 7/8in) wide;
the second a woven silk panel depicting a
flying phoenix amidst colourful wispy clouds,
mounted, 127cm (50in) high x 60.7cm (23
7/8in) wide. (2).

603 A WOOD GROUP OF GUANYIN AND
CHILD
17th/18th century
Carved in the round, the Bodhisattva seated
in a pose of royal ease with a young boy
holding a bowl cradled on the folded leg, her
high chignon draped in the cowl of a long
voluminous robe falling in heavy pleats and
exposing the toes of her bare feet, all on a
naturalistic lotus pond base issuing blossoms,
buds and leaves. 27.8cm (11in) high.
