The group carved as a bird with its wings
folded with finely-incised feathers, grasping a
leafy sprig of three ripe peaches in its beak,
the stone of pale green tone with rich russet
inclusions.

TWO PALE GREEN JADE CARVINGS OF
GEESE
17th century
The first of very pale white-green tone,
expertly carved as two geese with finely
incised feathers, each head turned sharply
back clasping sprays of lotus in their beaks,
the legs neatly tucked underneath, 7.5cm
(3in) long; the second carved as a goose
with its head turned back holding a spring
of peaches in its beak, the feathers well
delineated and legs detailed underneath, the
stone of pale green tone with some russet
inclusions, 6.5cm (2 1/2in) long. (2).
