A PALE GREEN AND RUSSET JADE CARVING OF A TOAD
17th/18th century
Modelled in the round as a toad with bulging eyes, its body
naturalistically detailed with characteristic bumps, crouching
foursquare with powerful limbs and webbed feet, the translucent
stone of pale green tone slightly tinged with yellowish-brown russet,
5cm (2in) long; together with a pale green jade ‘horse’ belt buckle,
17th/18th century, wood stand, 6cm (2 3/8in). (3).

A WHITE AND RUSSET JADE CARVING OF A CRANE
17th century
The recumbent bird with legs neatly tucked underneath, its long
curving neck turned sharply towards the back, holding a sprig of
peaches in its long beak falling over the finely incised wings, the tail
feathers finely detailed, the stone of greenish-white tone with minor
russet inclusions. 8cm (3 1/8in) long.

A BLACK AND BEIGE JADE ‘LINGZHI’ PENDANT
Late Ming Dynasty
The lingzhi pendant carved as one flattened larger and two smaller
fungi, the stone of creamy-beige tone with attractive black patches,
6.2cm (2 1/2in) long; together with a grey and russet jade carving of
a crane, 17th century, crisply carved with its head turned backwards
grasping a leafy stalk of two fruiting peaches in its long pointed beak,
the feathers of the folded wings and curled tail meticulously incised,
the stone of even pale grey tone with dark-brown inclusions,
6.5cm (2 1/2in) long. (2).
