LUOHAN
17th/18th century 637
Shown seated on a separate and simulated
rockwork dais, the luohan depicted with a
serene expression defined by downcast eyes
and a short beard and moustache between
pendulous ears, his left hand on his lap, the
other holding a sprig of sprouting lingzhi fungi,
his layered robes engraved with scrolls of
blossoming lotus filled in with black pigment,
the robes left open at the chest exposing his
dhoti, the stone of pale beige tone with russet
inclusions.
13.5cm (5 2/8in) high. (2).

hat hanging over her left shoulder, clad in
loose flowing robes, her hair tied into a bun
and wrapped with a scarf, the face with
serene expression, the stone of creamy-beige
tone, with painted blue and black pigment
remaining, wood stand.
