BRONZE VASE, HU
Ming Dynasty
Of compressed form, with flaring neck and
foot, the sides set with two stylised-dragon-
head loop handles, the body finely cast
with a broad band of taotie masks above
descending formal leaf lappets with archaistic
motifs on leiwen grounds, the neck and foot
with panels of confronted phoenix.

The body flanked by a pair of taotie-mask
loose-ring handles, cast with two horizontal
bands of cusped undulating tri-linear designs,
the gently-flaring neck with formal leaf lappets
reserved with further archaistic designs and
supporting four smaller taotie-mask loose-ring
handles, the foot with confronted phoenix
panels.
