                                                             dragons with embroidered eyes surrounded by clouds, bats and other
                                                             auspicious emblems with some painted details above a tall lishui border.

                                                             Late Qing/Republic period
                                                             Including two panels embroidered with large-scale blossoms and
                                                             butterflies in predominantly blue colors of varied shades, each lined
                                                             with a floral ribbon and a wide brocade band; the third a fragment
                                                             from a dragon robe, embroidered in gilt threads and polychrome satin
                                                             stitches to display a five-clawed dragon pursuing a flaming pearl amid
                                                             clouds, with auspicious bats in flight above roaming waves; all framed
                                                             and glazed.

                                                             Each probably a fragment of a dragon robe, worked in gilt-couched
                                                             threads and polychrome silk flosses depicting a side view five-clawed
                                                             dragon chasing a flaming pearl amidst ruyi-clouds, bats, and flowers
                                                             above crashing waves; each framed and glazed.
                                                             36 x 21 1/4in and 36 x 23in (91.4 x 54 and 91.4 x 58.5cm) excluding
                                                             frames (2).

                                                             A WOMAN’S EMBROIDERED PURPLE SILK ROBE
                                                             19th century
                                                             With a right side opening, the rich purple ground woven with lotus
                                                             roundels and bats amidst clouds, embroidered in gold threads and
                                                             satin stitches with flowers, butterflies and fish surrounding auspicious
                                                             emblems of a parasol, endless knots, and flower baskets, the collar
                                                             and sleeves lined with black silk further embroidered in blue color with
                                                             dense flowers.
