A WUCAI ‘DRAGON’ BOWL DAOGUANG SEAL MARK AND
POSSIBLY OF THE PERIOD
Daoguang seal mark and possibly of the period
The exterior enamelled with two writhing five-clawed dragons chasing
flaming pearls and two swooping phoenix, all between floral sprays,
below a border of the Eight Buddhist Emblems and ruyi-head motifs,
the well with a further iron-red dragon, raised on a short foot rim.

The small, globular vessel with an inverted lip, the exterior enamelled
with two writhing dragons in mutual pursuit of flaming pearls, the
mouth rim with a ruyi-head border.

plinth, one holding a loose brocade ball, the other a cub, each with
stylised lotus flower incense stick holders stemming from the backs.
