A BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER AND
COVER
QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY
of compressed globular form supported on three
elephant-head legs and rising to an everted rim,
with cast dragon-handles, sh, and crabs against
a wave-pattern ground with high-relief cray sh
and reeds, bands of keyfret at the shoulder and
above the legs, the cover cast in openwork with
a sinewy dragon weaving in and out of clouds
in pursuit of a ‘ aming pearl’ over waves, wood
stand (3)
