This article about knowledge and communication technologies have brought about dramatic
change in library professionals' work climate. Changes will bring frustration, anxiety and
confusion. The purpose of the study was to measure the librarians' quality of work life and to
ascertain the relationship with certain demographic features. There are 175 librarians who are
working in Nigeria in different library types. A measure of work-life efficiency has been used to
collect data for the study. Findings show that the quality of work life of librarians in the study is
relatively high in areas of opportunity for continued growth and safety, work organization social
integration, and work social relevance. Significant areas, however, such as fair remuneration,
training and retraining, work performance provision and equal rights concerns for librarians were
areas of frustration. Findings also show significant relationships between working-life quality and
gender, age, type of institution and years of work experience.
