A. Objectives of Learning Activities

After studying this module, you will gain knowledge about text procedures, linguistic

features of text procedures, types of text procedures, and examples of procedure texts that
you have never known before.

B. Material Description

Who here has a hobby of cooking? In order to make the food delicious, we usually

read the recipe or tutorial first. So, did you know that a recipe is an example of a procedure

text that we often encounter in our daily lives. In addition to cooking recipes, there are many
examples of procedure texts, such as: How to Make Handicrafts, How to Use Electronic

Items, and others.
Actually, what is the definition and purpose of procedure text? In order to understand

better, we will discuss procedure text in full in this module.

1. Definition of Procedure text

Procedure is an activity stage for completing an activity or method for solving a
problem. So, we can conclude that procedural text is a text that contains ways and objectives

for making or doing something. This text consists of stages and has an imperative sentence

structure in the form of an order. Procedure text aims to provide instructions on how to do
work using detailed materials and methods.

2. Structure of Procedure Text

Procedure text aims to provide sequential and detailed information. Therefore, in it
there are 3 structures that should not be forgotten, namely:
