Downhill Racing By Russ Kottke
Thank you to all the Downhill Racers! Hot
Wheels racing started on Friday with well
attended practice sessions in both the morning
and afternoon. Serious racers stopped in and
gave their Hot Wheels a shot down the track
to determine which would qualify for Satur-
day’s big races. At each convention there is a
“special” race which changes with each show;
this year was the Creature Feature. Contenders
for this race required Hot Wheels vehicles to
resemble animals, bugs or some sort of aliens.
This left a wide field of different Hot Wheels
choices. Racers did not disappoint; they used
their imaginations and dug deep in finding their
fastest Hot Wheels for the race. The traditional Tennessee racing his Noodlehead. Charleston, South Carolina racing her Hot Tub.
