Today we alight in Lahore to celebrate the opening of the museum built in celebration of
dear old Mum’s jubilee. However when I arrived, I bumped into my good chum Mr Rudyard
Kipling - unbeknownst to me, his father John Lockwood Kipling was the Curator.

Of course we could not resist visiting the exotic wares in the dark alleys of Lahore.
After copious amounts of gin, we discovered a hidden opium den of rare distinction.
Poor old Kipling over-indulged and lost himself in the black smoke becoming very maudlin
and moody. He then attempted to get into a row with the owner of the establishment
to which we, only narrowly, escaped intact.

I got our erstwhile writer back to his hotel and left him rambling in his sleep while I
made it just in time for the museum’s festivities.

I later heard that Kipling managed to get quite a good story published out of our night’s
adventures at the ‘Gate of 100 Sorrows’. Fortunately, my name was not mentioned.
