3. Hebrews 1:8

But of the Son He (Father) says,
                8
"YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER,
AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM.

NWT But in reference to the Son: “God is your throne forever and ever, and [the] scepter of your
kingdom is the scepter of uprightness”

The NWT reworded the Scripture to appear that Jesus’s power and authority have its source in Jehovah
God. Instead of exalting Jesus, the verse diminishes Jesus.

The argument of Hebrews is that Jesus is superior to the angels because He is worshipped by them. He
is superior to the prophets and to Moses…because He is eternal God. He is the creator of all of them!

(vs. 2-3) in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through
                       2
whom also He made the world.

And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by
                3
the word of His power When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the
               Majesty on high,

WITNESSING NOTE: In view of the nature of argument of Hebrews that Jesus is superior over all
created things because He is the Creator, can you see that changing the words of Hebrews 8:1 to “God
is your throne” is contrary to the point the author is trying to make.

               4. Zechariah 12:10

                                                                                           [a]
10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and

supplication. They will look onme, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns
for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.

NWT: 10"I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace
and of supplication, so that they will look on the One whom they pierced and they will certainly wail
over Him as in the wailing over an only [son]; and there will be bitter lamentation over him as when
there is bitter lamentation over the firstborn [son].

YHWH (Yahweh) is speaking in this passage (see verse 1) and verses 2-12 are a single discourse. It is
YHWH or Jehovah speaking here, no question. Every major Hebrew manuscript, the Septuagint, all
major Latin versions, and most Greek manuscripts translate the phrase “look on me” and not “look to
the One.” It is obvious that in John 19:37 and Revelation 1:7 that the pierced on was Jesus Christ, yet in
this verse Jehovah himself says that will look on ME whom they have pierced.

If YHWH is the pierced on in Zechariah 12:10 and Jesus is the pierced on in Rev 1:7 and John 19:37, then
Jesus is YHWH, the eternal one…God in flesh.
