Angel appeared to a Roman Centurion named Cornelius, in a vision, informing him to seek out the Apostle
Peter. Cornelius and his family are baptized, becoming the first non-Jewish converts to Christianity (Acts
10:3-7, 30-32). When Peter is thrown into prison by Herod Agrippa I God sends an angel to free him and
lead him to safety (Acts 12:1-10).

The angel come to John to reveal the prophecies to him that eventually became the book of Revelation
(Revelation 1:1). The Apostle John, in a vision, takes a prophetic little book from the hand of an angel. The
spirit being tells him, "Take it and eat it; and it shall make your belly bitter, but in your mouth, it shall be
sweet as honey" (Revelation 10:8 – 9) An angel tells John to take a reed and measure God's temple (Rev.
11:1 - 2). An angel reveals to John the true meaning of a woman, riding a scarlet beast, who has on her
forehead (Rev. 17).The last time an encounter with angels is recorded in the New Testament is when one
informs John that all the prophecies he saw are faithful and will come to pass. John is also warned not to
worship angelic spirits but only God (Rev. 22:6 - 11).

Angels acknowledge Jesus as their superior, and worship him accordingly. Angels continue to perform
ministering duties among humans, and this function has led to the concept of “guardian angels,” perhaps
prompted by Christ’s words in Matthew 18:10. It is not entirely clear whether each individual has a specific
angelic guardian, but there is certainly no reason for doubting that an angel might well be assigned to care
for the destinies of groups of individuals such as families. These celestial ministries will be most effective
                                                                                  169
when the intended recipients are receptive to the Lord’s will for their lives.

The Bible is clear that angels Worship God and Christ (Phil. 2:9–11; Heb. 1:6.). They
also Communicate and execute the will of God, and Christ. Good angels Obey the
will of God (Psa. 103:20; Matt. 6:10). Angels know and delight in the gospel of Christ
(Eph. 3:9,10.1) When a sinner repents, angels rejoice in heaven (Luke 15:7,10).

Angelology gives us God’s viewpoint on angels. Angels are personal beings who
worship and obey God. God sometimes sends angels to "intervene" in the course of
humanity. The study of angels helps us to recognize the warfare that exists
between God’s angels and Satan and his demons. A proper understanding of This Photo by Unknown
