Romans 3:20 For by works of the law no human beingwill be justified in his sight, since through the law
               comes knowledge of sin.

God’s moral law (Mosaic Law) was given to man to show him what was wrong and what was right, and
to show him his own rebellion. So a good approach is to use God’s law to show people they have sinned
against God. Living Waters Ministry suggests these questions:

               1. “Have you kept the Ten Commandments of God?” (Most people will say, “Yes”.) Then ask:
               2. “Have you ever told a lie?” (Most people will say, “Yes”). Follow with, “What is a person called who
tells lies?” (They will say, “A liar?”)
               3. “Have you ever stolen anything?” (Most people will say “Yes”.) Follow with, “What is a person calls
who steals?”) (They will say, “A thief”)
               4. “Have you ever looked at a man or women with lust in your heart?” (Most will say, “Yes”.) Follow
with, “The Bible says that if a man looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her in
his heart (Matt 5:28).” Say, “So by your own admission, you are an adulterer”
               5. “Have you ever used God’s name to curse?” (Most people will say, “Yes”.) Say, “The Bible calls that
blasphemy. Exodus 20:7 says, The Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name.”
               6. Now say, “By your own admission, you’re a liar, a thief, a blasphemer, and an adulterer at heart. And
that is just four of the Ten Commandments.”

The focus of your conversation has been showing the person that they have sinned against God and are
in a big dilemma. God is a God of justice. He cannot overlook sin. If He did, He would be an unjust God.
Justice demands a consequence for crimes. Now it is time to move into the second aspect of sharing the
               Gospel --- the good news!

               2. Christ died for your sin. You might say something like this: “God is a God of infinite love. John 15:13
says, ‘Greater love has no one than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.’ Because God loves
you so very much, He was willing to become a man and live a sinless life, keeping the law perfectly in
every way. He came in the Person of Jesus Christ to save you from your sin. He willingly allowed them to
hang Him on a cross, and He died on that cross to pay your penalty for your sins. He took your sins upon
Himself and shed His blood as a payment to satisfying the justice of God. He paid your debt.”

               3. Christ rose from the dead. You may want to conclude the above presentation with, “They took Him
off the cross and He was buried in a tomb. But three days later, He came to life again, rising from the
dead. His resurrection was proof of Who He was and what He had done. His death was accepted as
               payment for your sin.”

As you can see, we have presented the Gospel in the three parts it is outlined in 2 Corinthians 15:3-4.
You can now take the person into God’s Word and show him how God has outlined these truths there.
Here are some excellent verses to show the person:

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 3:3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born againhe cannot see the
               kingdom of God.”
