that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some
               people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

               Follow what the apostle Paul said in Philippians 4: 11-13 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I
               have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know
               what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether
               well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me
               strength.


                                     Seeking Wise Counsel

                                     It is impossible for any person to know everything there is to know about
                                     managing your resources.  That is why you should always seek the
                                     counsel of the Lord first (in his Word) but also seek counsel from a godly
                                     and wise person who has experience and success in managing money.
                                     Sources of godly counsel may include your spouse, parents, fellow
                                     believers, your pastor, professors, or professional guidance counselors.
               First, God has promised us counsel in His Word!

               Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving
               eye on you.

               God has given us all the answers in life that will guide us in our walk to eternity.  Proverbs 3: 5-6
               says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not in your own understanding, in all your
               way acknowledge Him, He will direct your paths.”   What a promise!  If we seek the Lord and
               refuse to trust in ourselves, God promises to guide our path.

               Proverbs 19: 21 Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.

               Seek the Lord and He will guide you by the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells in you.

               John 14: 15-17 If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you
               another advocate to help you and be with you forever—17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept
               him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in
               you.

               When you seek the Lord about a purchase or other financial decision, He will help you know the correct
               decision by giving you PEACE about moving forward.  However, He will also give you doubt or unrest
               about a decision that He knows is unwise.  He can guide you!

               Also consider the counsel of your spouse or parents.  They are concerned about your decisions, and your
               parents have had years of experience behind them.  Seek their opinion.

               Proverbs 6:22 My son, keep your father’s command and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. 21 Bind
               them always on your heart; fasten them around your neck. 22 When you walk, they will guide you; when
               you sleep, they will watch over you; when you awake, they will speak to you.
