11. You will desire to fellowship with other believers – going to church, for instance.
Believers need other believers in their lives to encourage them, hold them accountable, and to worship
together. God did not design the life of a Christian to walk a solo path. He designed it to be a path in
which others walk with you and help guide you toward maturity. You need to set aside your old friends
who don’t know Christ, and cling to those who do know Christ. That does not mean you do not have any
fellowship with those that are lost. Your desire is to win them to Christ. But in your new spiritual
journey, you need to find others who are walking in Christ. You should be able to find a church where
Jesus Christ is exalted as God and Savior, where the Bible is declared the infallible and inerrant Word of
God, and where you can sing and worship God with other believers.
1 John 1:7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Ephesians 5:19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making
melody with your heart to the Lord.
Hebrews 10:24-25 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not
forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the
more as you see the day drawing near.
Romans 1:12 that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the
other's faith, both yours and mine.
12. Generosity will become a part of your character.
Before you came to Christ, your focus was on yourself and what you could do to improve your lot in life.
You were self-consumed. But now you have a new outlook on life. Before your conversion, money was
almighty. Now the Almighty is mighty and money loses its primary focus. You discover that the quest
for riches can lead to spiritual poverty. Now you have a loving Father who promises to take care of all
your needs. You no longer have to fret about life’s basic needs. You can rest in the fact that God will
never leave you or forsake you, especially in the area of earthly provisions.
You will find that now you have a new desire and that is to give to others. You will see the needs of
those less fortunate than you and God will use you to help them.
II Corinthians 9: 6-9 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows
7
bountifullywill also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly
or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so

that having all sufficiencyin all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. As it is written,
“He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.”
13. You will want others to know Christ.
