Once you come to know Christ, you will want others to know that they also can be forgiven. We call
that evangelism. It is one of the primary reasons God has left you on earth to serve Him. God does not
desire that any person should perish, but that every man should come to repentance.
II Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward
you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
God wants you to become, as his disciples were called, “fishers of men.” He wants you to learn more
about the Bible and to share God’s Word with others, especially people who are lost in their sin. God
has chosen you to share His Word with them. And if you don’t, how will they know?
Romans 10: 14-17How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to
believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone
preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the

feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah
says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing
17
through the word of Christ.
