13.5 Let’s Personalize this lesson…
Decision-making is often like waking up at night and attempting to walk across the new room in
the dark. Darkness combined with poor vision would be a good cause to stumble, stub a toe, and
cry out in frustration—waking the whole house with “censored” words. When it comes to
decision-making, there are hundreds of times that we have lacked wisdom, and each time feels
like blindness. But James says: “Now if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask for it from God, who
gives to all without reservation and not reproaching, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5). Prayer,
Daily devotion to God’s Word, and acting on the light of the Word will provide us with the light and clear
sight on how to live in this dark world.
