Study Section16: Chapter 15: Knowing and Showing the Wonder of
                                Christ’s Salvation — Chapter 16 - The Doxological Conclusions
              16.1 Connect

I know some believers who go to R or X rated movies and think nothing of it. They say to
themselves, “We can’t hide from all the corruption of the world. If I want to be able to
communicate effectively with my lost friends, I need to know what they are in to. Seeing
what they see helps me better communicate with them and help them see their need for
Christ.” Do you hold to this philosophy?

Here is a key verse in Chapter 16 is found in verse 19: therefore, I rejoice, now I with for you to be wise
unto the good, but innocent unto the evil. In this short verse, God tells us that the above philosophy is not
God’s way. He does not want us to put into our minds and hearts things that pollute them. Philippians
              4:8 says,

8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything
worthy of praise, think about these things.

As we come to the conclusion of this epic book on doctrines of the faith, we need to center our minds and
hearts on our loving Savior. We need to be obedient in faith to His will for our lives…

              16.2 Objectives
                      1. Students should be able to list and describe some of the doxological postludes that are found
                      in these concluding chapters.

                      2. Students should be able to describe Paul’s final warning to the Roman church and extend that
                      warning to the church today.

              16.3 The Passage: Romans 15:14 – 16:27

Now I commend to you Phoebe our sister, being also a deacon of the church in Cenchrae, so
that you might welcome her in the Lord being worthy of the saints and might help her in
whatever matter she might have need; for also she has been a helper of many people, even to
                         me myself.

Treat Phoebe with great respect because her faithful service to God deserves it.

Greet Prisca and Aquila my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, who on behalf of my life their own necks have
