Greece also gave us Pandora’s Box, the parable for our time.
Radioactive material cannot be neutralized; once created, it has to be
stored away from all life for its life. Instead, we have repeatedly
spilled and dumped it into the ocean, reservoir of organic evolution
and sustainer of human existence. It will, indeed, be a long time
before we see the sea again, should our race survive the half-life of
plutonium.
