Bunster bubbled over with frustration. His arm, an angry push-
broom, swept his pile of cards from the table.
“No, no, no! You’re twisting my words!”
“But, Uncle: you are the only one here who did that.” Lulu was
adamant.
“No—you—it’s not—” He couldn’t find his tongue.
“Too bad, Uncle,” said Bob, carefully putting his cards back in the
box. “Better luck next time. Now we’ll never know what penalty you
had in mind for us—beside denying us membership in the Wordcraft
Rangers.”
“Aaargh! I admit I was shocked by your double diplopia via forced
bilateral esotropia!” Bunster whirled and headed for the door to the
hall. “You kids had better go get ready to leave. That last bus will be
at the corner of M and Participle in one hour. Don’t miss it. I’ve got
to go back to the clinic: my symptoms are returning!”
