Then the door opened. Simultaneously a brace of powerful
outdoor lights switched on, exposing the love-struck felines. And
two large German shepherds bounded over the threshold into the
yard.
The tomcats froze mid-warble. But not for long: in an instant, they
were scrambling pell-mell through the rose bushes, oblivious to
thorns.
