DAY 7: THE LORD, OUR ADVOCATE

“… we have an Advocate with the Father,
Jesus Christ the righteous.”
1 John 2:1

“How I long to be with you in this difficult time. The only
thing I can do is to continually intercede for you and your
family.” This is the message of Susan, a Pastor’s wife, my
friend, and one of my prayer warriors. She obeyed God’s
instruction to pray for one another. She definitely followed
Christ’s example to intercede for God’s people.
Susan prayed for me during my battle with cancer. The
pandemic of loneliness due to covid-19 in 2020 made us
even closer. Distance between the Philippines and Canada
did not hinder us from communicating, thanks to the
technology!

However, in September 2020, nine months after the covid
started, she succumbed to illness, was hospitalized, and
underwent hemoperfusion. Fifteen days after getting sick, at
sixty years old, Susan went home to be with the Lord.

Prayer is important to know God’s will in our life. It will
help us to be wise on how to spend our remaining days,
seeing that life is like a vapor that appears for a little time
and then vanishes away. Prayer to the Almighty God will
help us find strength, courage, and peace, especially when
facing difficulties and hardships.
