DAY 16: THE LORD, OUR HELPER

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you
and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
                                Matthew 11:28-30

            Caregivers are blessings from God.
They show compassion (desire to alleviate the suffering of
the one they love), understanding (patience when the sick
person becomes irritable and hard to deal with because of
the pain), long-suffering (willing to experience sleep
deprivation or give up his or her own career and aspirations
in life), faith (believing for a favorable or positive outcome
of the situation), and confidence (that with God’s love and
strength, he or she will be able to be God’s hands and feet in
helping others). The Scripture talks about taking care of
loved ones. It says: “Whoever does not care for his own
relatives, especially his own family members, has turned
against the faith and is worse than someone who does not
believe in God.” (1 Timothy 5:8).
            Prayer:

Father God, listen to the prayers of the caregivers. Grant
them strength, patience, and understanding as they care for
the sick and the dying. May they be Your hands and feet in
showing Your tender touch and care. With God’s love as
motivation, they will be a blessing to those who are
