DAY 22: LORD, THE REFINER

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of
death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod
and Your staff, they comfort me.”
Psalm 23:4

The Lord allows trials and difficulties in life to build our
character pleasing to Him. He refines us to be useful in
God’s Kingdom.
Although we go through fire and water (Psalm 66:10-12):

“For You, O God, have tested us;
You have refined us as silver is refined…
You laid affliction on our backs…
We went through fire and through water;
But You brought us out to rich fulfillment.”

Although the Lord gives us the bread of adversity and the
water of affliction (Isaiah 30:20-21):
“And though the Lord gives you
The bread of adversity and the water of affliction…
Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,
“This is the way, walk in it,”

Although we are being tested in the furnace of affliction
(Isaiah 48:10-12):
