Social Media and You

left out because you couldn’t join them due to another
            commitment.

This anxiety is constantly fueled by the content you come
across on social media. The more you use social media,
the more likely it is that you will come across someone
who is now having a better time than you are. This is the
source of the worry about missing out (FOMO).

            17. Expectations that Cannot be Fulfilled

The majority of people are probably aware that using
social media can lead to the formation of unrealistic
expectations about life and friendships in one’s head.

The vast majority of social media platforms are severely
lacking in online authenticity. People will write on
Facebook about how much they adore their significant
other, and if they use Instagram, they will fill their
Instagram profile with heavily staged photographs.
In reality, there is no way for you to tell whether or not
this is all a charade. Even if everything appears to be in
order on the surface, the person in question could be
drowning in debt, their relationship with their significant
other could be on the rocks, and they could be seeking
            validation through their Instagram likes.

            18. A Poor Self-image of One’s Body
When it comes to Instagram celebrities, it’s worth noting
that if you look through some of the most popular
Instagram accounts, you’ll see very beautiful people
posing in expensive clothing on their well-proportioned
            bodies.
