PRELUDE TO THE TEACHING SESSIONS





          T
                    his book is not about the journey of the corporate church, but
                    instead  focuses  on  the  spiritual  journey  of  the  individual

                    believer. And yet, for us to be the corporate body that the
          world will take note of, we all need to be willing to go on the same

          journey  as  the  Shulamite.  The  purpose  is  to  lead  us  to  know  Jesus

          intimately as the supreme, reigning King and as our faithful, heavenly
          bridegroom, as it is this revelation that will transform us into the pure,

          unshakeable, spotless, warrior-bride of Christ. As we study this book

          together, we discover that it is a depiction of the progressive stages we
          can choose to go through, towards ever-increasing union with Jesus,

          who is Love. It is not a book for the casual Christian, but a teaching
          manual penned with the help and direction of the Holy Spirit, to propel

          those He has awakened to desire more of God and yearn for a fuller
          experience of Christ.


          In contrast to the previous book: Ecclesiastes, which repeatedly uses

          the expression ‘all is vanity’ (empty, false, and futile) and is the book
          that  talks  about  the  natural  man  whose  interests  are  carnal  and

          earthbound, Song of Songs is indeed the Song of all Songs because it
          is concerned not with that which is temporal and fleeting, but with life

          in the spirit—which is fully satisfying and eternal. Song of Songs is

          rightly named because it invites the reader to a life that can soar above
