SESSION 10 : Song of Songs Chapter 4:7-11

In verse 11, He describes her speech as being like a honeycomb. Her

tongue releases milk and honey. Again, in another translation (King
James Version), it says: “Honey and milk are under thy tongue.”

Honey, as we know, is very sweet and nutritious. What is being said
here is that the Shulamite has now matured to the point where there is

an abundant store of encouraging and strengthening spiritual food for

those whom the Lord brings across her path—whether or not they be
mature or new believers. She is knowledgeable and approved as a

minister to those who are ready for the meat of God’s Word, while
simultaneously being sensitive and gentle enough to feed the weaker

lambs with spiritual milk, so that they, too, may grow.

Under her tongue is a storage place—a well of good things—which are
readily available to those in need. Notice that it says they lie under the

tongue, not on it. This is because she does not just blurt and spurt out
the abundant life she has gained; she distributes it with wisdom and

          humility.

The Bridegroom now finds the Promised Land within her—a place of
joy, peace, abundant fruitfulness, and rest for Him to enjoy. By offering

Him His grace, she has now become one who exudes His fragrance and
          walks in His righteousness.

And this is exactly what He will do for us—if we will but walk with
Him and yield to His desires for our lives.

The question we must ask ourselves is:
