RADICAL LOVE
There will be a battle, as the forces of darkness (in this instance
depicted as the lions and leopards) rally against us—we are told of this.
And even though we may not win every battle, we can be assured of
this: The war is already won. Hallelujah!
We are in a season where the Lord wants to empower us for a higher
level of spiritual warfare, and that is why it is time to:
“…Strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight)
and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and
entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and
active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,
Looking away (from all that would distract) to Jesus, who is the leader
and source of our faith…” (Hebrews 12:1–2, AMPC)
The same sins have hampered some of us in the Body of Christ for
years, but now is the time to expose the sin, name it, shame it, bring it
into the light, and lay it at the foot of the Cross where victory is found.
Give the Lord no rest until He has brought you out from its snare. It is
time to stop cohabiting with little foxes that threaten to keep us from
bearing fruit for the Kingdom. Instead, deal with them—and get on
with walking as kings and priests unto our God.
The fact that the Shulamite desired to do just that—by agreeing to be
His Bride, whatever the cost—has made a deep impression on the Lord.
As we read verses 9 through 11, we see how her deepening passion and
